If you are looking for a great place to get away, New Harmony, Indiana is worth a look. It is located 2 1/2 hrs both from St. Louis, Mo. and Louisville, Ky off I-64, at exit 4. It is a small historic Main street town with small local business downtown. Art galleries and antique shops, along with our locally owned pharmacy, florist and bank are here to fill your needs while you visit us. A clothing and antiques store and a coffee shop. Starting in March each year you can take a tour and learn the history starting at the modern visitor's center, the Atheneum which is run by Historic New Harmony, a part of The University of Southern Indiana. A florist and a gift shop too. Stroll Main Street with a refreshment and take in the architecture. New Harmony's shops are located inside the 19th Century buildings that line the streets. On the secondary streets you will find homes, gardens and small parks to sit and ponder. Any season offers a different look, so visit anytime.
